We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Accountant to manage and oversee the financial records and accounting operations of a construction and contracting company. The role involves handling project-based accounting, monitoring costs, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting management with accurate financial reporting and analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
- Monitor project costs, track expenses, and ensure accurate allocation of revenues and expenditures per project.
- Coordinate with project managers to review budgets, forecasts, and financial performance of ongoing projects.
- Handle payroll processing and ensure timely payment of salaries, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Prepare and submit VAT and tax declarations in compliance with local regulations.
- Assist in internal and external audits and ensure proper documentation of financial transactions.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and oversee depreciation schedules.
- Implement and improve accounting procedures and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent are a plus.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or contracting companies.
Skills & Abilities:
· Strong knowledge of construction accounting and project costing.
· Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
· Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.
· Knowledge of tax regulations and financial compliance requirements.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
· Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
